Chief Minister of Assam

My Dear People of Assam,

Assam is a state in northeastern India known for its wildlife, archeological sites and tea plantations. In the west, Guwahati, Assam’s largest city, features silk bazaars and the hilltop Kamakhya Temple. Umananda Temple sits on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra river. The state capital, Dispur, is a suburb of Guwahati. Our government is committed to implementing the ‘Antyodaya Philosophy’ of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, so that the benefit of each and every scheme reaches the last person in the row. This has made the state government focus on inclusive development with the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ which means growth of every individual and development of every part of the state. We have taken several effective initiatives to improve health services, empower women, ensure welfare and upliftment of weaker sections, strengthen and modernise infrastructure, augment power supply, eliminate corruption and establish good governance. Serving people remains the motive of our government. In order to achieve this objective, several welfare schemes have been implemented by the state government during the last four-and-a-half years while ensuring overall development of all parts of the state. Our constant endeavour will be to strengthen and deepen the bond of trust we have succeeded in building with you. We remain committed to meeting your expectations and answering your aspirations in the times to come.
