* For Ensuring Effective Public Services ► To strengthen the delivery and appeal mechanism of public services, Cabinet has approved the bill 'Assam Right to Public Services (Amendment) Bill, 2024' to be placed in the Autumn session of the Assam Legislative Assembly ► The Assam Right to Public Services (Amendment) Bill, 2024 will include the following provisions for setting up of the Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services ■The Chief Commissioner of RTPS and the Commissioners of RTPS will be appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of a Committee consisting of (i) the Chief Minister, who shall be the Chairperson of the committee; (ii) the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly; and (iii) a Cabinet Minister to be nominated by the Chief Minister ■The Assam State Commission to Right to Public Service Commission will be an Independent 3-member Commission comprising 1 Chief Commissioner and 2 Commissioners empowered to function as a quasi-judicial body ► The proposed Commission will be empowered to recommend disciplinary action against Designated Public Servant for persistently failing to provide the notified services

* Ensuring Continuation of Development Works ► To ensure smooth implementation of ongoing development works, Cabinet has accorded approval to re-appointment of 115 Junior Engineers (C) under Reg. 3(f) in the Public Works (Roads) Dept
