CM Reviews Silapathar Situation

Dispur, March 12: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the law and order situation at Silapathar today with senior officials of the government at Brahmaputra State Guest House.

The Chief Minister gave strict directions to nab main accused in the Silapathar incident Subodh Biswas at the earliest. In the meeting it was decided that Bijan Mahajan would be appointed Special Public Prosecutor in the Silapathar case.

Chief Minister was apprised about the significant progress made in the investigation of the incident and that all 37 prime accused named in the FIR and subsequently found involved during investigation were arrested.

Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay informed the Chief Minister about the clues unearthed during investigation of Subodh Biswas which would be vital in nabbing the main accused and taking the case to a conclusion. He also informed that Nagpur and Kolkata police were also alerted about Biswas.

It is to be mentioned here that, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order Mukesh Agarwal has been camping in Silapathar since March 7 and would continue to stay there to carry on the investigation.

Chief Secretary V.K.Pipersenia and other top officials of the State Government were present in the meeting.
