■ Karimganj is now Sribhumi district ► To give the existing Karimganj district a distinct identity which justifies its rich cultural heritage, Cabinet has approved renaming Karimganj as Sribhumi district Attracting Investments to Assam ► In order to build upon the growth momentum in the State and attract investments and infrastructure development in Assam, Cabinet has approved holding of the Assam Investment and Infrastructure Summit, 2025 on 24 & 25 February ► The Summit will be graced by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ■ Bringing Parity in Electoral Rolls ► To facilitate preparation of Electoral Roll for the Panchayat Election on the basis of Electoral Roll of the Assam Legislative Assembly prepared under the provision of the Representation of People Act, 1951, Cabinet has approved Amendment of Rule 12 of the Assam Panchayat (Constitution) Rules, 1995.
