• Preventing Leakage of Value Added Tax - Cabinet has approved the Draft Assam Value Added Tax (Amendment) Rules, 2025 to ensure monitoring of movement of taxable goods from outside the State of Assam by notifying restrictions and conditions in respect of import of goods into the State by Road, Rail, River, Air or Post - This will mandate no person taking delivery of goods coming into Assam in any form exceeding 250lts without valid documents and directions have been issued stop illegal storage, sale and resale of petrol and diesel immediately • Approval to Rules - Cabinet has accorded approval to the following - Draft Assam Urban Water Bodies (Preservation and Conservation) Rules, 2025 for preparation of district level schedule of public water bodies - The Assam Municipal Employees (Provincialisation) Bill 2025 to provincialize the services of 1044 Municipal employees across 71 Municipal Boards appointed on or prior to 4th Sept 2013 - Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service (5th Amendment) Rules, 2024 * Prioritising Student Welfare - Cabinet has approved the utilisation of Assamese Language Teacher (ALT) services in both Assamese Medium and other medium schools to ensure the benefit of students across the state
