• Gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi - Cabinet expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the Union Cabinet for approving the development of the Shillong-Silchar Greenfield High-Speed Corridor at a cost of ₹22,864cr - The 166.8km corridor includes a 22km stretch in Cachar district and will bring down travel time from Guwahati to Silchar to just 5 hours, improving connectivity, logistics and regional development in line with Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of 'Act East' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' - The Cabinet also resolved to put on record its gratitude to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Union Minister, MoRTH and Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Union Finance Minister for their support to the project
