Appointment letters to over 11,000 youth

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma formally handed over appointment letters to 11,236 new recruits across 24 departments of Govt of Assam at Veterinary College playground, Khanapara on September 23, 2022. The entire recruitment process was carried out purely on merit basis and in a transparent manner. Recruitment process for filling up 26,000 Class III & IV posts has already started. Advertisement for 10,000 more posts will be published soon, while steps will be taken for self-employment of 2 lakh youth.

CM initiates bridge construction

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma formally initiated construction of an RCC bridge over Dhansiri River on the Udalguri-Bhairabkunda road. Constructed under NERSDS for ₹34 crore, the bridge is expected to be ready by February 2025. The bridge will not only improve road connectivity within Udalguri but also between Assam & Arunachal Pradesh. It will also lead to socio-economic development in the area. The bridge will reduce distance & travel time from West Kameng district & Rupa (both in Arunachal) to Assam via Bhairabkunda.

CM inaugurates audio visual hub at Jyoti Chitraban

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated state-of-the-art audio visual hub at Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, Guwahati on August 22, 2022. With the inauguration of the hub, film producers from Assam as well as other North-eastern States will now no longer have to go either to Mumbai or Chennai for post-production work. This hub at Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio can be used at subsidised rates, while the facilities available at the hub will enable filmmakers to add latest audiovisual effects to their work as per the demands of the script.

83 new ambulances for 108 Mritunjoy Emergency Response Service

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma flagged off 83 new ambulances for 108 Mritunjoy Emergency Response Service. The emergency ambulance service has saved 1,86,000 lives so far. Currently, 800 ambulances, including 779 Basic Life Support Surface Ambulances, 14 Advanced Life Support Surface Ambulances & 7 Boat Ambulances, are providing emergency health transport services to the people.

Relief to ex-employees of HPC paper mills

Pursuant to the Cabinet decision, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma formally unveiled the relief package for ex-employees and ex-workers of the now-defunct Nagaon Paper Mill, Jagiroad and Cachar Paper Mill, Panchgram of Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. The Cabinet had on September 30, 2021 approved Rs 700 crore relief package for the welfare of ex-employees and ex-workers of the paper mills. During a meeting with the stakeholders on May 11, 2022, Govt of Assam decided to provide an additional Rs 110 crore to extend gratuity benefits.

CM at Statewide launch of ‘Modi @20 Dreams Meet Delivery’

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took part at the Statewide launch of ‘Modi @20 Dreams Meet Delivery’ at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati on June 25, 2022. The book narrates how development has taken a paradigm shift in the past 20 years under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi by becoming more tangible and value based. It is a window to the inspiring personality of Narendra Modi. On the occasion, the Chief Minister requested Rupa Publications MD Shri Kapish Mehra to translate the book into Assamese to enable Assamese readers know more about Modi. Several prominent personalities like noted journalist Shri Dhirendranath Chakravarty, Axis My India Ltd CMD Shri Pradeep Gupta, Olympic medalists Smt PV Sindhu and Smt Lovlina Borgohain, Asian Games medalist Hima Das, singer Shri Angarag Papon Mahanta, noted surgeon Dr Ilias Ali and BJP Assam unit President Shri Bhabesh Kalita, among others, were present.
